Christina del Mundo (Vocals Guitar)
What other acoustic music do you fancy in music?
I picked up my first acoustic guitar when I was 15. Bluebird by The Beatles – that’s what I got my brother to teach me. Guitar came more naturally to me than other instruments I tried (but failed at dismally!), so I knew instantly that guitar was my instrument and acoustic music was my zen.
I grew up listening to Joni, James Taylor, Crosby Stills & Nash and other folky music from that era. It’s one of the best eras in terms of creativity and self-expression, in my opinion. More recently, Kings of Convenience, Jessica Pratt and Lewis Taylor have been on my playlist who, funny enough, sound like they’re from the folky era of the 60s! I guess that’s why Thomas and I cover songs from these artists in our Melbourne acoustic duo.
We genuinely enjoy the originals. Locally, I know Melbourne is teeming with talented artists and musos , we do play a few of their songs and we would like to include some more in our repertoire.
